The UK government has approved the use of digital pathology in the bowel cancer screening programme (BSCP). In the BSCP tests are preformed in order to detect and remove lesions in the large bowel which would progress to cancer if left untreated. The BSCP is a very effective cancer screening programme which reduces the risk of dying from colorectal cancer by 16%.
